Patient Self-Measurement of Blood Pressure

Purpose
To provide an overview of proper patient education in self-measurement of blood pressure (SMBP) for ambulatory patients using evidence-based research.

Intended Audience

Health care professionals in an ambulatory or community-based setting who teach adult patients (18 years and older) to self-measure their blood pressure.

Format
The content of this 35 minute module is divided into seven sections, with an eighth section devoted to test questions. Students may choose to view sections of the module as time permits — it is not necessary to complete the module in one sitting.
